Geiger-Muller counter is used to detect? (CSS 2013 General Science & Ability Paper)

Protons
Neutrons
Photons
None of these

A Geiger counter ( also known as a Geiger–Müller counter or G-M counter) is an electronic instrument used for detecting and measuring ionizing radiation. It is widely used in applications such as radiation dosimetry, radiological protection, experimental physics and the nuclear industry.
  • Geiger counters are widely used to detect gamma radiation and X-rays, collectively known as photons, and for this the windowless tube is used. However, detection efficiency is low compared to alpha and beta particles.
